West Area Committee Meeting – 1 December 2011

December 3, 2011

I attended my last Council Meeting before Christmas.  Here is the agenda.

A lot of concern was expressed by Councillors regarding the two planning items that came to the Committee for consultation (agenda items 2 & 3).  The main item relevant to Feltham North was agenda item 4.  The people have spoken and therefore a CPZ will not be extended to include Mill Way, River Gardens, Roman Close and The Vale.

The highlight of the night was Agenda item 9.  The Headteacher at Feltham Community College has impressed many people and the improvements at the school have been stunning!

Over the past few days

April 26, 2010

Picked up the following:

1) Highways

Outside 81 Shakespeare Avenue:

Some carriageway defects on the carriageway between 1 Letchworth Avenue and the junction with Bedfont Lane.  Examples:

Outside 1 Clymping Dene:

Outside 12 Harlington Road East:

The footway dips at the side of 150 Field Road:

2) Graffiti

Outside 68 Burns Avenue:

Near 211 Staines Road, Feltham:

Bridge over Longford River by Burns Avenue and Ruskin Avenue:

3) Hounslow Homes matters

The grass near 1-4 Tennyson Close needs cutting:

I have been told that 8 Shakespeare Avenue is empty and there are items in the garden:

4) Feltham Arena

A constituent informed me that there had been a fire in the area and that the fire brigade had to break through barrier.  Whilst I have reported this to the correct people, I took a look and the barriers appeared reasonably secure:

5) Items or rubbish on footway

It was Sunday evening so may have been cleared but I noticed:

On Tennyson Close (outside 1 Shakespeare Avenue):

Opposite 105 Shaftesbury Avenue:

Opposite 1 Mill Way:

6) Fallen sign

On Harlington Road West (side of 27 Hounslow Road):

Will report later this morning.

December 13, 2009

Here are some things to report for the weekend:

The first is next to 2 Lansbury Avenue:

The next is outside 55 & 57 Lansbury Avenue:

The next was outside 90a Lansbury Avenue:

Here is some tagging on the footway outside 9 Viola Avenue:

And this is outside 11 Viola Avenue:

The next is outside 24 Carlton Avenue:

The next is near 70 Harlington Road West:

The next is outside 133 Harlington Road West (tagging not shown here needs to be treated as offensive):

Not Graffiti but the following at the bus stop, outside 213 Staines Road, is tagging:

I always like a happy face but I still think that the following outside 379 Staines Road is worth removing:

The next was on the bin outside Londis (Baber Bridge Parade, Hounslow Road):

The next is in Mill Way (near number 2):

The following is next to 26 Hatton Green:

The following is opposite 44 Viola Avenue:

There was also similar tagging on the utility box in this street near the junction with Carlton Avenue.

The following is opposite 31 & 33 Beeston Way:

Also, on the bridge in Hounslow Road (over the train track):

Last Saturday

May 17, 2009

I was out and about most of the day (& evening before)  in Feltham North delivering the latest Half Year Report and, as always, I thought I would share some of the things I saw and intend to report.  Before that, it is worth saying that the day reinforced the immense damage that many MPs have done to politics in this country.  I represent a fantastic ward with friendly people living in it but even the banter with one or two people hit home to me how bad things are.  I was out in the morning with a friend and my mother.  She tells me one gentleman said to her that she was brave to be delivering leaflets in the current climate.  What MPs – of all main parties – have done makes me very annoyed.

Anyway, here are some of the things that I saw.  I saw these two in the carpark by the entrance to Nursery Close (from Hounslow Road):

I noticed the following Notice Board in Hounslow Road, which certainly does not look the part:

And, in Mill Way:

One key decision that is due for the Executive is on pavement parking (starting in the West Area of the Borough).  This picture illustrates, in my view, the danger of not allowing pavement parking in a street like this.  The alternative in allowing access is to put double yellows on one side of the road but this will remove lots of parking capacity and is something I would not support.

A few people have responded to the latest leaflet and I am up to date with raising enquiries – thanks to all those who have got in touch so far!

The latest Half Year Report – out and about today

July 19, 2008

Please let me know if you comments about the content or anything you would like to have seen in it.  I have been out and about most of today (nice day for it) and have delivered to Buckingham Avenue, Rosslyn Avenue, Lansbury Avenue, Harlington Road West, Clymping Dene, Walsham Road, The Vale, Mill Way, Roman Close, River Gardens, plus sections of Hounslow Road & Staines Road.

As usual, I have taken my camera out with me in case there is anything I need to report.  Taken some already and will post a selection later.
