Feltham North 20/03/10

March 22, 2010

I did not get around as much as I would have liked to with the rain but did pick up a few things:

1) Graffiti

Outside Central Parade, Sparrow Farm Drive:

Opposite 12 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Next to 14 Green Man Lane:

2) Footways

I will ask for the following to be checked out opposite 135 The Drive:

3) Carriageways

Outside 14-24 Fern Grove:

50 Fern Grove:

155 Cygnet Avenue:

Between 16 and 45 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Outside 29 and 31 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Opposite 2 Sparrow Farm Drive:

On the more positive side, I remember looking at the following outside 42 to 58 Field Road a few years ago and it was very bad – now fine:

4) Central Parade, Sparrow Farm Drive

Other than the graffiti, things were looking good.  Bin had been emptied and frontage looked clean and tidy:

Outside 10 Central Parade:

5) Bin outside 24 Faggs Road

Looked full, which I found unusual with the other bins in this street looking empty:

6) Drainage

Overflowing outside 140 Faggs Road:

Will report things in the morning.

Things picked up in Feltham North earlier today

1) Highways

I do not think I have ever seen so many defects marked up for repair on footways in my ward.  Either there has been planned visits or someone has pre-empting my post today.

Here are some defects not yet picked up.  The first is outside 88 Harlington Road West and I trust it is a temporary repair.  I will find out – I am confident that it is a TfL matter:

The following is outside 99 Harlington Road West:

Outside 117 Carlton Avenue, I noticed that the lines around the defect have faded.  Will check it will be repaired soon:

Opposite 144 Hounslow Road:

Here is a selection of ones already picked up.  First between 4 &6 Baber Drive:

10 Denham Road:

12 Lansbury Avenue:

40 Viola Avenue:

44 Carlton Avenue:

121 Field Road:

The Vale:

Update 14 Feb:

One I saw in Clive Road:

2) Graffiti

Near 13 Denham Road:

By 56 Rosslyn Avenue:

72 Harlington Road West:

Between 1 & 2 Beeston Way:

Near 178 Sparrow Farm Drive (all three streetlights):

Sign next to 119 Harlington Road West:

Next to 159 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Further down the alley there is graffit on the wall (need to walk to the end):

Near 58 Buckingham Avenue:

Opposite 61 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Opposite 69 Beeston Way:

Side of 119 Harlington Road West:

3) Blocked drain

Outside 49 Harlington Road West (not the slip road):

4) Waste

I am pleased that the problem of bags out early at the side of 119 Harlington Road West has pretty much gone away (though one small bag there today), I notice the following at the rear:

I am concerned to see how flowing it was on a Saturday morning.

And someone has dumped manure in The Vale (near the junction with Hounslow Road):

5) Entrance to former Eldridge House

I noted the following earlier today:

I reported the above in December (reference 1069674) – will ask why the problem remains?

6) Hedge preventing use of footway

The following opposite 85 Beeston Way was mentioned to me in December.  No real change today.

7) Latest with conservatory at Lavender Court:

8 ) Street cleaning request in Hounslow Road

The following outside 80 Hounslow Road needs a good sweep and clean:

And the following is a regular problem outside 41 Hounslow Road but again a clean and sweep would be appreciated:

Where applicable, I will report the above on Monday morning.

The rest from 12/12/09

December 14, 2009

It appears that rubbish has possibly not been collected outside 1 Baber Drive:

The following bit of footway near 41b Hounslow Road needs a steam clean.  Because of the large tree, it is impossible for this footway to be kept free from bird mess but I will ask for (i) the area to be cleaned and (ii) for the schedule that it is cleaned because of the regular problem.

The following is not far from the entrance to 73-89 Field Road:

I am not certain if the following on the slip road outside 122 Hounslow Road would fall within the intervention levels but I will ask Highways to look at this:

The following is outside 237 to 247 Staines Road:

The following is in The Causeway (at the end of Green Man Lane):

The following works were in Beeston Way (at the end of Baber Drive):

What I found strange was the information on the sign:

I will ask what 07-09 divided 10 – 2008 means?

The following litter was near the shops at Baber Bridge Parade:

The sign at the end of Green Mane Lane needs a good clean (or replacement) and I wonder whether it is pointed in the incorrect direction?

The following is the land next to 24 Green Man Lane – there was recently a very large mound of earth that appears to have been spread around – I will ask?:

The following bollard is opposite 2 Green Man Lane and I am not certain if it serves any purpose in its current position:

The following footway opposite 85 Beeston Way cannot be used:

The following lampost opposite Speedy Hire in Staines Road appears to have been knocked and damaged a little:

More from yesterday morning

November 20, 2009

This was taken outside of 102 Field Road.  Someone could trip over the edge of the crossover so I will ask Highways to inspect:

Here is the carpark outside 42-58 & 60-76.  It is so much better than what it was a couple of years ago or so:

This is outside 73-89 Field Road.  Again, will ask Highways to inspect:

The following tagging is in Field Road (next to 121 Hounslow Road):

Lots of bird mess needs to be washed away outside of 43 Hounslow Road (close to the hotel).  With this being such a large tree, this problem is inevitable but I will ask for the schedule for cleaning this particular piece of footway:

The traffic bollard at Harlington Road West (junction with Hounslow Road) has been knocked over:

Finally, I was really pleased to see the pond in Feltham Park looking so good again!

Will report the above where appropriate.

Becketts, Field, HRW & The Dell

November 19, 2009

This morning, I spent nearly three hours on an estate inspection.  It never ceases to amaze me how many things are picked up on these inspections.

We started in the lovely Lavender Court.  We are very lucky in Feltham North to have two Sheltered Homes (Owen House being the other one) that are amongst the best in the Borough.

The place looked very good, as usual, and it was interesting to see the works begin on a new Conservatory.  The base was being put down:

The damaged wall was outside 30 Becketts Close:

We then visited some the two blocks in Becketts Close.  The following tagging was outside 57-76 Becketts Close:

Here is the entrance to 57-76.  I have asked for the windows to be cleaned and for some of the flyposting (taxi & racist stickers) to be removed:

The following tagging was outside 21 Becketts Close:

This was at the rear of 37-56 Becketts Close.  I was not certain if there was a blocked train under this but have asked for this to be checked:

This garage area was at the rear of 37-56 Becketts Close and 110 Field Road.  I will ask for these void garages to be given some attention:

I have asked Hounslow Homes to investigate whether they have responsibility for the following and if they do, to carry out an urgent repair.  It is next to the Garage for 68 Becketts Close:

The following pothole was outside 247 Field Road.  I think that this area is the responsibility of Hounslow Homes:

The following damaged wall is opposite 152 Field Road:

The following cracked slabs are outside 110 Field Road:

This is at the rear of 108 Field Road.  I will be asking Hounslow Homes to remove the green fencing as residents have expressed concern that people are using the broken fence to climb onto the wall.  The tagging on the wall also needs to be removed:

The following security light, according to residents, is not working.  It is located at the rear of 249 Field Road:

A lot to report.  Will do today.

More in Feltham North

August 2, 2009

Was out and about last Saturday morning and here are some of the things I saw.  The play area between Becketts Close and Field Road was looking in excellent condition:

IMAGE_371

The following was in Harlington Road West (slip road) near the junction with Becketts Close.  Not exactly certain why it is marked up but I will ask (my guess is that it has sunk a little?):

IMAGE_372

I know that there has been some comment about the Crown and Sceptre since it closed but about to reopen.  Here is what I saw:

IMAGE_373

IMAGE_374

I will make an enquiry with licensing about when this will be considered.

The following was taken opposite 59 & 61 Beeston Way – will ask for the tagging to be removed:

IMAGE_375

The following is opposite 91 Beeston Way – very difficult for someone with a pram to use this footway:

IMAGE_376

The following was outside 82 Hounslow Road, Hounslow.

Nice evening for deliveries

June 2, 2009

Out and about in Harlington Road West, Becketts Close, Lansbury Avenue, Field Road, Staines Road & The Vale with my friend and ward colleague, Gill Hutchison.

Here are some pics I took on my travels.  First one in Harlington Road West – near junction with Burns Avenue:

IMAGE_052

Second one of a tree in Burns Avenue.  I am told that when wet the branches hit pedestrians:

IMAGE_053

Third one is in the alley in the middle of the parade of shops in Harlington Road West (even side):

IMAGE_054

Fourth one is a dumped bag on the corner of Harlington Road West and Staines Road:

IMAGE_055

Fifth one is a picture of the grass verges in Staines Road – they could do with a cut:

IMAGE_056

Sixth one is of the Crown & Sceptre Pub.  Whilst it has been a while since I had a pint in there, I would be interested to know why it is boarded up:

IMAGE_057

And, finally, here is some graffiti on the wall at the side of the bungalows in Gardner Place – can just about see it on this photograph.  Access is from an alley in Lansbury Avenue (not far from junction with Harlington Road West):

It was lovely weather for it!
