Feedback on latest leaflets
December 15, 2009Three B’s in Feltham North
June 5, 2009I was out in Baber, Beeston & Byward earlier this evening. As always took down some things to report. Some tagging on the traffic cones on in Beeston Way:
Noticed that one family had not had their plastics collected in Beeston Way. I suggested that they report via the eForm and then let me know the reference number.
Nice evening for deliveries
June 2, 2009Out and about in Harlington Road West, Becketts Close, Lansbury Avenue, Field Road, Staines Road & The Vale with my friend and ward colleague, Gill Hutchison.
Here are some pics I took on my travels. First one in Harlington Road West – near junction with Burns Avenue:
Second one of a tree in Burns Avenue. I am told that when wet the branches hit pedestrians:
Third one is in the alley in the middle of the parade of shops in Harlington Road West (even side):
Fourth one is a dumped bag on the corner of Harlington Road West and Staines Road:
Fifth one is a picture of the grass verges in Staines Road – they could do with a cut:
Sixth one is of the Crown & Sceptre Pub. Whilst it has been a while since I had a pint in there, I would be interested to know why it is boarded up:
And, finally, here is some graffiti on the wall at the side of the bungalows in Gardner Place – can just about see it on this photograph. Access is from an alley in Lansbury Avenue (not far from junction with Harlington Road West):
It was lovely weather for it!
Last Saturday
May 17, 2009I was out and about most of the day (& evening before) in Feltham North delivering the latest Half Year Report and, as always, I thought I would share some of the things I saw and intend to report. Before that, it is worth saying that the day reinforced the immense damage that many MPs have done to politics in this country. I represent a fantastic ward with friendly people living in it but even the banter with one or two people hit home to me how bad things are. I was out in the morning with a friend and my mother. She tells me one gentleman said to her that she was brave to be delivering leaflets in the current climate. What MPs – of all main parties – have done makes me very annoyed.
Anyway, here are some of the things that I saw. I saw these two in the carpark by the entrance to Nursery Close (from Hounslow Road):
I noticed the following Notice Board in Hounslow Road, which certainly does not look the part:
And, in Mill Way:
One key decision that is due for the Executive is on pavement parking (starting in the West Area of the Borough). This picture illustrates, in my view, the danger of not allowing pavement parking in a street like this. The alternative in allowing access is to put double yellows on one side of the road but this will remove lots of parking capacity and is something I would not support.
A few people have responded to the latest leaflet and I am up to date with raising enquiries – thanks to all those who have got in touch so far!
A little more delivery this evening
July 22, 2008Lovely weather! I took my time and delivered the latest Half Year Report to Gladstone Avenue and Helen Avenue. Of course, this was only possible because the planned Borough Council had been cancelled.
Picked up two bits of case work but did not get talking to many people. Maybe everyone was having a pleasant time in their back gardens?
Do feel free to post any feedback – good or bad – on the latest leaflet.
Some of you may have noticed the digging up of the new pedestrian island in Staines Road earlier today. This follows on from an email that was sent by a constituent (and copied to me) regarding drainage problems. That is what the work today has been about. I hope to see the lining corrected by the beginning of next week.
For those who have not seen the new island, here it the picture that is also on the front of the leaflet:
Back to the weather, I think we are in for a very warm night.
The latest Half Year Report – out and about today
July 19, 2008Please let me know if you comments about the content or anything you would like to have seen in it. I have been out and about most of today (nice day for it) and have delivered to Buckingham Avenue, Rosslyn Avenue, Lansbury Avenue, Harlington Road West, Clymping Dene, Walsham Road, The Vale, Mill Way, Roman Close, River Gardens, plus sections of Hounslow Road & Staines Road.
As usual, I have taken my camera out with me in case there is anything I need to report. Taken some already and will post a selection later.
The next Half Year Report in Feltham North
July 7, 2008Now that the Pedestrian Island in Staines Road is complete (I hope to post about this in the next few days), we are ready to draft the next leaflet.
Whilst, we already have too much to cover one leaflet, do shout if you would like updates on anything specific and you believe other residents would be interested also!
