Theresa Villiers in Feltham North on 17/04/10

April 19, 2010

The Shadow Secretary of State for Transport came to Feltham and Heston on Saturday.  She and I went around Viola Avenue, Beeston Way, Baber Drive, Byward Avenue, The Vale and Hounslow Road.  We delivered literature and walked and talked a lot about local transport issues and how the campaign was going more generally.  Here are the two of us in The Vale:

As was the case in my previous visit to these streets, there were a large number of defects marked out for repair.   Here are three from 47 Viola Avenue, 77 Viola Avenue and 97 Beeston Way:

Outside 212 Hounslow Road (after I reported the matter):

The utility box opposite 44 Viola Avenue still needs attention:

The graffiti and fly tip has been removed at the allotment in Viola Avenue:

Great to have such brilliant weather at the moment!

Issues around Baber Drive & Hounslow Road

February 16, 2010

I have received an anonymous letter about three matters:

  1. Dog mess on pavements and grass verge on Hounslow Road between the its junctions of with Baber Drive and Staines Road;
  2. Vehicles such as refuse and fire remain unable to go down Baber Drive.  This is despite the introduction of yellow lines on the junction with Hounslow Road.
  3. Reporting two Houses that are in Multiple Occupation.

With regards to the first and third, I have reported to the relevant department.  With regards to the second, I have asked for this to be looked into.

In addition to 1, I have also written to express concern about dog mess on pavements in The Drive, Beeston Way & Cygnet Avenue.  A couple of residents also raised with me when they saw me out and about.

Things picked up in Feltham North earlier today

February 13, 2010

1) Highways

I do not think I have ever seen so many defects marked up for repair on footways in my ward.  Either there has been planned visits or someone has pre-empting my post today.

Here are some defects not yet picked up.  The first is outside 88 Harlington Road West and I trust it is a temporary repair.  I will find out – I am confident that it is a TfL matter:

The following is outside 99 Harlington Road West:

Outside 117 Carlton Avenue, I noticed that the lines around the defect have faded.  Will check it will be repaired soon:

Opposite 144 Hounslow Road:

Here is a selection of ones already picked up.  First between 4 &6 Baber Drive:

10 Denham Road:

12 Lansbury Avenue:

40 Viola Avenue:

44 Carlton Avenue:

Opposite 61 Sparrow Farm Drive:

Opposite 69 Beeston Way:

3) Blocked drain

Outside 49 Harlington Road West (not the slip road):

4) Waste

I am pleased that the problem of bags out early at the side of 119 Harlington Road West has pretty much gone away (though one small bag there today), I notice the following at the rear:

I am concerned to see how flowing it was on a Saturday morning.

And someone has dumped manure in The Vale (near the junction with Hounslow Road):

5) Entrance to former Eldridge House

I noted the following earlier today:

I reported the above in December (reference 1069674) – will ask why the problem remains?

6) Hedge preventing use of footway

The following opposite 85 Beeston Way was mentioned to me in December.  No real change today.

7) Latest with conservatory at Lavender Court:

8 ) Street cleaning request in Hounslow Road

The following outside 80 Hounslow Road needs a good sweep and clean:

And the following is a regular problem outside 41 Hounslow Road but again a clean and sweep would be appreciated:

Where applicable, I will report the above on Monday morning.

The rest from 12/12/09

December 14, 2009

It appears that rubbish has possibly not been collected outside 1 Baber Drive:

The following bit of footway near 41b Hounslow Road needs a steam clean.  Because of the large tree, it is impossible for this footway to be kept free from bird mess but I will ask for (i) the area to be cleaned and (ii) for the schedule that it is cleaned because of the regular problem.

The following is not far from the entrance to 73-89 Field Road:

I am not certain if the following on the slip road outside 122 Hounslow Road would fall within the intervention levels but I will ask Highways to look at this:

The following is outside 237 to 247 Staines Road:

The following is in The Causeway (at the end of Green Man Lane):

The following works were in Beeston Way (at the end of Baber Drive):

What I found strange was the information on the sign:

I will ask what 07-09 divided 10 – 2008 means?

The following litter was near the shops at Baber Bridge Parade:

The sign at the end of Green Mane Lane needs a good clean (or replacement) and I wonder whether it is pointed in the incorrect direction?

The following is the land next to 24 Green Man Lane – there was recently a very large mound of earth that appears to have been spread around – I will ask?:

The following bollard is opposite 2 Green Man Lane and I am not certain if it serves any purpose in its current position:

The following footway opposite 85 Beeston Way cannot be used:

The following lampost opposite Speedy Hire in Staines Road appears to have been knocked and damaged a little:

Not Graffiti but the following at the bus stop, outside 213 Staines Road, is tagging:

I always like a happy face but I still think that the following outside 379 Staines Road is worth removing:

The next was on the bin outside Londis (Baber Bridge Parade, Hounslow Road):

The next is in Mill Way (near number 2):

The following is next to 26 Hatton Green:

The following is opposite 44 Viola Avenue:

There was also similar tagging on the utility box in this street near the junction with Carlton Avenue.

The following is opposite 31 & 33 Beeston Way:

Also, on the bridge in Hounslow Road (over the train track):

More in Feltham North

August 2, 2009

Was out and about last Saturday morning and here are some of the things I saw.  The play area between Becketts Close and Field Road was looking in excellent condition:

The following was in Harlington Road West (slip road) near the junction with Becketts Close.  Not exactly certain why it is marked up but I will ask (my guess is that it has sunk a little?):

IMAGE_372

I know that there has been some comment about the Crown and Sceptre since it closed but about to reopen.  Here is what I saw:

I will make an enquiry with licensing about when this will be considered.

The following was taken opposite 59 & 61 Beeston Way – will ask for the tagging to be removed:

IMAGE_375

The following is opposite 91 Beeston Way – very difficult for someone with a pram to use this footway:

The following was outside 82 Hounslow Road, Hounslow.

Three B’s in Feltham North

June 5, 2009

I was out in Baber, Beeston & Byward earlier this evening.  As always took down some things to report.  Some tagging on the traffic cones on in Beeston Way:

Noticed that one family had not had their plastics collected in Beeston Way.  I suggested that they report via the eForm and then let me know the reference number.
