Land off Bedfont Lane

October 22, 2012

Earlier this month, I received the following in response to an enquiry I made regarding the future of the land off Bedfont Lane in which the Ex-Serviceman’s Club was located until recently:

“Following discussions earlier this year the representatives of the Feltham Ex-Serviceman’s Club intimated that they wished to surrender the club back to the Council. My team ensured a smooth and successful handover process over the last few months; one of the main priorities was noted and actioned as to ensuring the security and integrity of the asset whilst consideration of future utilisation of the building was undertaken.
As you have noted below, the security measures, now in place, give assurance against possible fly tipping and possible vandalism; however no specific future use has yet been identified for the property, although consideration of its utilisation within the wider Council asset portfolio is being undertaken.

I will ensure that you are kept informed of any proposals for the utilisation or otherwise of the former club.”

The Feltham North Councillors have held a surgery at this venue every second Wednesday of the month (except October) since 2002.  We have replaced that with the Feltham Assembly Hall but the time has slightly changed and is now 7pm to 8:30pm.

Latest on Bedfont Lane car park

March 14, 2010

I noticed walking home last night that work had been done in terms of removing litter.  It was too dark to take a picture so I returned today.

The bin area also looked very clean:

And, at the side of the bridge (but within the carpark):

I will request a visit and some litter picking.

Out again this evening

February 17, 2010

Very cold again.  I was out and about in Tachbrook Road, Fruen Road, Shakespeare Avenue, Ruskin Avenue, Cassiobury Avenue, Letchworth Avenue, part of Bedfont lane & part of Staines Road.  No pictures but the streets, especially Tachbrook Road and Fruen Road were very clean.  Saw no litter or tagging etc.

Last night’s Borough Council Meeting

June 24, 2009

Here was the agenda.

I answered the question in item 11 as Councillor Reid was away.   It was a highly appropriate question from my ward colleague, Gill Hutchison.  The property in Bedfont Lane is in our ward and I was truly horrified at the decision of the Planning Inspector so was only too willing to answer the question. I know that residents in the area will be horrified – I just hope that they know that it is not down to the Local Planning Authority.

Items 13 & 14 were motions proposed by members of the Conservative Group. The other motion was withdrawn as an appeal to the decision taken by the Magistrates Court has been made. With regards to item 13, if ever was an appropriate time to lose ones temper that was it.  What we exposed was clearly false and those accused expressed no shame, they did not even try to justify the comments and preferred to focus on red herrings.  On agenda item 14, the Labour Group had no interest in making a coherent argument, not that I expected one!

Bedfont Lane (again)

Not sure if this is property is in the Feltham North of the Feltham West bit of Bedfont Lane but it is news worth sharing.
